Depending on application, may serve as an air charge temperature sensor, barometric pressure sensor, exhaust gas differential pressure sensor, fuel tank pressure sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, turbocharger boost sensor, or supercharger pressure sensor.
The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) provides manifold pressure information to the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The data is used to determine the air mass flow rate and required fuel for optimum combustion and ignition timing.
